64. Woo-hoo!

I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the future this morning.
I'm not expecting miracles. He's a human being, and he isn't going to be perfect. But I am proud of my country for trying to become something better. I am excited to see what happens. I'm nervous too, but for the most part I'm just relieved.

I was pretty moved by his victory speech. I'm optimistic for the next four years, but I'm a little disappointed that I didn't win my electoral number bet, 342. So close. At any rate I'm excited for you guys to come down.

Seattle re-won my heart last night. There was so much love and happiness to go around! I hugged over 7 strangers - a very high number for Seattle folks! All ages and all colors danced in the streets last night.

Largely, I think everyone -- especially in our age bracket -- feels the same. We know it's not going to change overnight, we don't even know if its going to change for the better ... but change is certain, and with the candidate we elected the chances of it being positive is far stronger than if Grandpa would have won.

I'm wondering when I should take my yard sign down. January 20th? Di was talking about assembling the troops to go to the inauguration. I'm half tempted to go.
